The name "MADINA" came from the holy city of holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). We are a family run business where it all started in a small shop at 17 Moore Street, Dublin 1 back in February 2002.
We were the first ASIAN and HALAL food retail in the North Inner City Dublin. We introduced many ethnic products for the growing multi-ethnic minorities in Dublin & Ireland. Giving all the consumer their need to feast.
When we first opened our retail store in Moore Street, our mother used to handmade " Punjabi Samosas" from home to sell them. We then progressed and moved to a larger unit at 20-21 Moore Street. We started our halal butcher and DESI curry hot deli where our mother's cooking was introduced and the chefs were trained by her, personally. Due to this authentication and dedication, we were awarded the best curry in Ireland.
We then expanded the multi-ethnic food business to our cash and carry wholesale market in Dublin 7 mainly supplying multi-ethnic fruits and vegetables. We were one of the first company to import all type of ethnic vegetables and fruits in to Ireland.
In 2006, we opened our "Madina Desi Curry Co." at 60 Mary Street which is a non-alcoholic restaurant. We sell the taste of Desi traditional and original home made currys, biryanis and for the first time in Ireland, we introduced " Masalla Dosa & Idli".
